Maybe a bit when things started to get a bit more hectic towards the end, with an entire city of guards chasing you – but generally I found it was more fun just to do the deed, get down with your bad self and then get the hell out of there. Hiding spots are still a little obvious – but tbh I didn’t really ever use them much. There is a plethora of missions for you to work your way through – from assassinations, to jumping puzzles, wagon-races and carnival games – to helping out your friendly, neighbourhood prostitutes. The format is still the same – you visit various cities and open up maps by seeking out viewpoints – but this time it’s a whole new playground. I have to say – in playing this – it’s like the developers really listened to everyone’s collective grievances and improved on just about everything. The cut scenes were long and repetitive – the combat was a little stilted – and while planning assassinations was fun – you ended up doing the same, three side missions in every, single city. Well, you I were both big fans of the first game – the concept was well-thought out and we loved stabbing our way to a stealthy victory – Altair was just such a cool character to play – but no amount of fangirling or fanboying could prevent us from acknowledging that AC certainly had it’s faults. I think the question on everyone’s lips though, Hex – is, have they fixed the annoying repetitive aspects from the first Assassin’s Creed – in the sequel? Archers are mentioned, as well as elite enemies, dagger wielders, “Brutish” armored troops with heavy armor and 2 handed swords and axes, and an intelligent halberd enemy will probe hiding places with their weapons if they think you’re near by. – New enemy types with unique attitudes and weaknesses are present in the game. – Items include, flags, statues, and gold coins and more that isnt mentioned.
– Hidden objects (like flags in the first one) are there to uncover but this time if you track them down you will get in-game bonuses that make it worth your time.
